Liberal Member for Narracan, Gary Blackwood has congratulated local schools across the Narracan electorate who have had funding announced for capital works.
Mr Blackwood said it was vital funding flowed as soon as possible to support school communities who received funding from the State Government’s Minor Capital Works Fund.
‘Every student deserves access to the best quality learning environment regardless of how big or small their school community might be,’ said Mr Blackwood.
‘For every student, teacher and family 2020 has been an incredibly tough year and these announcements today will be warmly welcomed and provide a much needed boost as we work towards a COVID-safe 2021.
Schools announced by the State Government today include;
‘These projects are in addition to the $12 million allocated in the 2020 State Budget for Warragul Regional College.
‘It is critical our local schools across Narracan receive the funding they need to cope with the growing population we have here in West Gippsland.
‘More families than ever are choosing to make this region their home and without the necessary funding schools will not be able to keep up with the demand for places we have.
‘These announcements today are great for these schools, but there is much more to do right across the West Gippsland region to deliver better education outcomes for our students,’ Mr Blackwood said.
