The Liberal Nationals will continue to invest in our regional communities by investing $2 million towards planning and early works for the next stage of the Moe Activity Centre/ Moe Rail Precinct Revitalisation Project.
A key project of the Latrobe City Council, the funding will enable the masterplan to be updated and work to begin on the next stage.
The masterplan will create a blueprint for the future of Moe’s township, including the proposed bus interchange on George Street, a youth precinct, a shared pedestrian zone in Moore Street as well as general improvements to the streetscape and green areas.
Daniel Andrews and Labor has allowed unplanned and unchecked population to choke Melbourne’s suburbs and we must look to decentralising our state.
The Liberal Nationals are committed to creating a state of cities, not a city state, but to achieve that we must invest in our regional towns, especially in Gippsland and the Latrobe Valley.
Comments attributable to Leader of the Liberal Party, Matthew Guy:
“I’m passionate about the Valley and I know what potential it has, that’s why I’m committed to investing in community infrastructure.
If we want people to move to townships like Moe, we have to invest in the infrastructure to support that growth.”
Comments attributable to Member for Narracan, Gary Blackwood:
“Stage 1 of the activity centre has transformed Moe, I’m so excited to see the positive impact Stage 2 can provide to the township.
Moe has faced some challenges over the years, but the town is changing and our streetscapes and community services should reflect that.”
