Daniel Andrews and his Labor Government have abandoned Baw Baw Shire and Latrobe City families by failing to deliver much needed funding to three local schools.
Prior to the 2014 election, Gary Blackwood MP, Member for Narracan announced that a re-elected Coalition Government would deliver important funding to upgrade:
- Warragul Regional College ($7 million)
- Neerim District Secondary College ($3 million)
- Trafalgar High School ($3 million)
- Moe Albert Street Primary School ($2 million)
This important funding was a firm commitment of the Coalition. The incoming Andrews Government has not matched this funding commitment – therefore failing to deliver $15 million of vital funding for locals schools servicing students in the Baw Baw Shire.
Quotes attributable to Nick Wakeling MP, Shadow Minister for Education:
"Premier Andrews has failed to deliver $15 million of vital funding for Baw Baw Shire schools.”
“The Premier needs to explain to the hundreds of Narracan families why they are being punished by not delivering this important funding.”
“Daniel Andrews needs to ensure that the vital funding for these schools is delivered in the May Budget.”
Quotes attributable to Gary Blackwood MP, State Member for Narracan:
“Parents in the Narracan electorate rightly want these schools to be upgraded. I will continue to stand up for local residents to ensure that this vital funding of $15 million is delivered.”
