Liberal Member for Narracan, Gary Blackwood, has today announced that a re-elected Victorian Coalition Government would commit to delivering $3 million for the Trafalgar High School.
Speaking at the High School, Mr Blackwood said that the commitment of $3 million follows completion of the first two stages of its redevelopment.
Mr Blackwood said the Victorian Coalition Government had a strong record in delivering for education throughout its first term in Narracan.
‘We have delivered a number of key education projects locally for schools including increased funding for better primary and secondary facilities and more funding for early learning centres,’ Mr Blackwood said.
Major education improvements locally in the first term of the Napthine Coalition Government include:
- Neerim District Secondary College Science Wing;
- More Kinder Places in Drouin and Warragul including a new Early Learning Centre at Drouin Primary School;
- Moe South Street Primary School upgrade;
- Yarragon Pre-School Development; and
- Funding to support the Moe Children’s Hub.
‘We’re committed to the future of education in Narracan and today’s announcement builds on commitments for a re-elected Napthine Government to invest $7 million into Warragul Regional College, $2 million for Moe Albert Street Primary School and $3 million for Neerim District Secondary College.
‘Today’s announcement brings our commitment for education upgrades right across Narracan to $15 million and I am proud to say if re-elected they will be delivered by a Victorian Coalition Government.’
Mr Blackwood said the Napthine Government was building a better education system, with a record $9.2 billion for school education in 2014-15, $1 billion more than Labor’s last budget in 2010.
