Member for Narracan Gary Blackwood has today welcomed an announcement from the Victorian State Government that $4m would be delivered to Baw Baw Shire to assist in the redevelopment of the West Gippsland Arts Centre.
The West Gippsland Arts Centre redevelopment forms part of the Baw Baw Shire Council’s long term strategy to develop the Centre to meet the growing community demands for arts, cultural performances, tourism and social facilities.
‘The West Gippsland Arts Centre is a fantastic community asset here in the West Gippsland region,’ said Mr Blackwood.
‘The centre has hosted some amazing performances, artists and cultural and social events and this announcement today of funding to assist in redeveloping the Arts Centre to cater for an even wider range of events is the next step for this great facility.
‘I congratulate the Baw Baw Shire Council for their hard work in advocating for these funds and look forward to seeing the redevelopment take shape so that future generations can continue to enjoy the events hosted at the West Gippsland Arts Centre,’ Mr Blackwood said.
