An elected Liberal Nationals Government will build a new Drouin Police Station including the capacity for increased police numbers and opening hours in the future.
A Matthew Guy Liberal Nationals Government will commit $6 million to give Victoria Police the infrastructure and resources it needs to keep the Drouin community safe.
For too long, local police have been forced to work in an old and tired station that is rundown, dilapidated and no longer fit for purpose.
A rebuilt Drouin Police Station is part of the Liberal Nationals plan to invest in police station infrastructure across Victoria to support the hard working men and women of Victoria Police.
Other Liberal Nationals police station commitments include:
Comments attributable to Shadow Minister for Police, Edward O’Donohue:
“Victorians feel less secure because of the crime tsunami under Daniel Andrews.
We need to invest in the infrastructure now to keep up with population growth and give our police the facilities they need to best serve our local community.
Only the Liberal Nationals have a plan for a more secure community with more police, better resources for local police, stronger sentencing, tougher parole conditions and a return to the principle that bail is a privilege not a right for violent offenders.”
Comments attributable to Member for Narracan, Gary Blackwood:
“This commitment today is an answer to the continuous community concerns that have been raised with me relating to a shortage of police resources.
It is critical we deliver the infrastructure and investment needed to ensure that our police can respond as best as possible to the challenges they face.
These new facilities will give local police the support and resources they need to continue to keep our community safe.”
