Drouin’s population is growing at a rapid rate and more than ever before, essential services are feeling the strain.
That’s why an elected Liberal Nationals Government will invest $2 million for a new ambulance station at Drouin.
Drouin needs an appropriately located station to service the township with the certainty of a permanent home for the station that can provide 24 hour coverage. The new Drouin station will reduce wait times and reliance on Warragul which is already at capacity.
Daniel Andrews has lost control of population growth and failed to keep up with much needed services like police, schools and health care services.
Victoria is growing at about 150,000 people a year and most of that growth is occurring in Melbourne.
The Liberal Nationals have a clear plan to decentralise that growth and create a state of cities, not a city state, but to do that we must ensure that we grow Victoria properly and that starts with providing vital emergency services to our regions.
Comments attributable to Leader of the Liberal Party, Matthew Guy:
“Only the Liberal Nationals have a clear plan to decentralise Victoria and ensure proper growth in our regional towns like Drouin.
We will invest in essential services, like ambulance stations to get back in control of population growth.
Comments attributable to Member for Narracan, Gary Blackwood:
“It is critical that we deliver the infrastructure and investment needed to ensure that our emergency services can respond as best as possible to the challenges they face.
We cannot have an ad hoc, band aid plan to upgrade and tack on solutions here and there as Daniel Andrews has done in regional Victoria.”
An elected Liberal Nationals Government will build a new Drouin Police Station including the capacity for increased police numbers and opening hours in the future. A Matthew Guy Liberal Nationals Government will commit $6 million to give Victoria Police the infrastructure and resources it needs to keep the Drouin community safe.
